Celestis Nox'25 - Night Sky Observation Camp

Introduction

Celestis Nox ’25 was an immersive overnight astronomy and science camp organized by SEDS Pera, the established chapter of SEDS Sri Lanka at the University of Peradeniya. Held on August 29, 2025, at the Faculty of Engineering, this event served as the official launch of our Space & Science Camp initiative. The camp brought together a community of students with a shared passion for the cosmos, blending technical education with hands-on exploration under the night sky.

Project Description

The event was a collaborative effort between SEDS Pera and FOADS, who served as the official telescope sponsor. The camp took place overnight at the University of Peradeniya's Faculty of Engineering premises, starting from 7:00 PM and continuing until the following morning. The program was designed to move beyond theoretical learning, offering 50 participants the chance to engage in high-level celestial observations and interactive science workshops. The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Achala Pallegedara, Senior Academic Advisor for SEDS Pera, who served as the Chief Guest.

Project Goals and Objectives
