As SEDS PERA, we always try to bring up something innovative and uncommon in order to keep our chapter active and to improve the knowledge of the members on space science. Of all of the parts of the world, the field of technology is most impacted by science fiction. Multiple fields including communication, transportation, and space travel are improved because of the fantastic ideas presented in the science fiction genre. Sri Lanka's First Scientific  High Altitude Balloon was launched by SEDS Sri Lanka in last Decemeber on 26th and was named as " Serandib 1.0". It was flew across DS Senanayake M.V Kandalama and Dambulla ground. There were 31 of member committee from government and non- government universities took part to this event. 

This project was aimed to created great career paths and research fields in Sri Lankan space context.

This series specially designed for Junior SEDSers, to give them a clear insight on different sectors of space studies. This webinar series was organized by SEDS Sri Lanka in cooperation with SEDSPERA, SEDSMORA, SEDSJAPURA, SEDSSABRA, SEDSSLIIT and SEDSUOC.

The first-ever Pico Satellite and Ground Station Control workshop organized in Sri Lanka in order to introduce the satellite technology to Sri Lanka. Cube Satellites are being launched from around the world on various launch vehicles. One of the goals of the Cube Satellite program is to provide easy access to space for all Cube Satellite developers.

This workshop was successfully organized by SEDS Pera in collaboration with ORION Space Pvt. Ltd, Bhaktapur, Nepal. This was held over four days, under the supervision of two Engineers from ORION Space Agency on 7, 8, 9 and 10th of March 2020 at the University of Peradeniya for the students from all over the country who have an urge for this field. This workshop offered a technical session on launch opportunities and ground segment operations. By delivering new perspectives in microsatellite applications and several presentations dedicated to cube satellite missions. It might have surely helped for the envisioning of our future Satellite projects

So this had become a valuable opportunity for Sri Lanka to embrace an emerging technology happening at the very beginning of the New Year.
